Think you have the best ribs in Arizona?? This is your chance to prove it.

What: Heart Attack Grill Rib Challenge
When: Dec, 9th
Where: Heart Attack Grill
           440 W. Warner Rd.
           Tempe, Arizona

We have decided that we are going to move the December rib cookoff to the parking lot of Heart Attack Grill this year.

Everything is still subject to change, but this is what our goals in this contest are going to be. It will be in the parking lot at Heart Attack Grill and we are hoping to get Budweiser to bring out a beer truck. Heart Attack Grill will provide nurses to treat your burns and deliver any medication that you may require. (Within reason) Heart Attack Grill is also going to put on a burger eating contest so those of you who think that you can eat will have a chance to prove it. The rules for the rib contest will pretty much be the same as they were last year. We will be following KCBS guidelines for turn-ins.

Entry fees are $50

Again, nothing is set in stone yet, but we are hoping for the following.

1st place $1000
2nd place $500
3rd place $300
4th place $150
5th place $100
6-10th     $???

After Taylor I think that I have completely lost my mind in wanting to organize another event. With that being said we would appreciate any help that we can get in getting sponsors together and in organizing the event. Contact Darin or myself to find out what you can do to help. This event is going to be alot of fun and we hope to make it a little unique compaired to other events. This event is going to be alot of fun and I hope to see you all there.

Is any updated information available on this event.  The original post states that "everything is still subject to change" but I figure that since the event is just a month away things must be more firm by now.

Any new would be great to learn.

According to a new post on the AZBBQA forums, check in time will be 7:00am or 8:00am, still undecided and turn in will be 2:00pm.

It sounds to me like this will be a case of speed rib cooking.

The limited amount of time to cook may be the deciding factor in whether or not we compete.  We're more interested in working on and competing in "low and slow" events instead of those that lead themselves to a grill roasting technique.

We'll see...
