This contest needs one more teem to become a qualifier. Only 24 teams right now. If you are on the fence...get off!! Come and get your feet wet!! Entry fee is only $150. There will be a lot of AZ cookers there. This is a great contest and venue and not that far to drive. Great chance to show the kids Hoover Dam, you drive right acrossed it. There are 2 casinos within 2 miles just in case you want to get away for awhile.

It is KCBS. I have gone the last two years and traffic was not a problem. We will leave Friday morning and come back on Sunday morning. Now Monday might be a big traffic day.

Last year going up I detoured and went through Laughlin. I left Avondale around 11:00 AM. I called the promoter from the road and she told me the traffic at the dam was backed up for 3 hours. Comming home on Sunday I crossed the dam and the only delay was for security at the dam. They looked at my rig and let me pass on through. It was a piece of cake.  ;D

Wouldn't miss it. We are leaving about 9:00 AM on Friday. I hope the wind doesn't blow like last year. Looks like the AZ BBQ crowd will be well represented. This will be a fun time. I hope thier Margaritas are better this year. Last time they were way to sweet.

At the Autry it was a southwest theme. It ranged from QN4U's southwest beefribs which were beefribs with diced peppers sprinkled on top. They won. It was the best beefrib I ever shoved in my mouth....... to crab enchiladas, shrimp tacos, pork tenderloin medalions, on and on. No theme to this one as far as I know so pretty much whatever dish is your specialty other than the 4 BBQ meats. They do get pretty fancy with presentation.

Will we have any problem going over the dam with our box truck and smoker?  Should we go around instead?  Thoughts...

I know they have restrictions on certain types of rigs they will let across. I'm not sure what they are. Maybe AZDOT or NVDOT might be the way to find more info. We are going around tp avoid the traffic backup at the dam. It's only about 50-60 miles more to go through Laughlin.

Forgot to mention that this contest is an automatic qualifier for the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational and the Kansas City Royal. This is the only contest in Nevada for 2007.

That's awesome.

BBQCZAR, you going to go??  It would be great to see you there.  Our App is going out in the morning.

Supposedly it will also count toward the California TOY since there will be 10 CBBQA members there, so that is awesome as well.
