Has anyone heard any info about this event.  It's a whole hog cook-off in Casa grande on 2/25.  I received an email today from the organizer and well, I'll leave it at that.

I saw this on Craigslist and have not heard back from my email. Might be hard to get 25 whole hog teams without letting people know.

If anyone wants the email forwarded to them, shoot me a PM with your email address.

The copy/paste thing's not working again.

Yea, I got that same e-mail.  I sent them a message back, but have not heard from them yet.

Seems a bit on the expensive side for what is being offered, No??

Still, cool concept...

Yes...WAY too expensive in my opinion.

I heard back from them today.  No cash payouts, just prizes and trophies......with the "opportunity" to make $ vending.

The way I see it, the average team is out $500+ just walking in the door, before the "opportunity" to make $ vending.

Did you see 4 oz samples for $2.  Not a lot of profit there either.  Crash, I would say that your  numbers are conservative.  ;D

You're 100% right on there not being whole hog cookers in this state, let alone 20.  I've only seen one team cook a whole hog in AZ (and it was more like a piglet), and they have moved out of state.

No idea how the organizer plans to pull this off, but wish them the best of luck.

If you go to aegaz's website, there are no future events planned, only one past event. Forgot to look to see their mailing address, Nigeria maybe. What guarantee do you have after you send the money in, the show will go on. They say the money goes to a charity, donations only.
Just my 2 cents, hope I'm wrong.

So I take this to mean everyone who signs up to do the hog competition has a free hog supplied by the event for them to cook? Hopefully not still breathing and already butchered. ???  Might be ok for those with equipment big enough, I want to see someone try and stuff one of 'em in a bullet though :D :D
