Hey all, just want to get a feel for how many of our AZBarbeque members plan on coming out to enjoy this event.

I know the competitors and judges will be there, but we want to find out how many of our general members plan on coming out to support the event.

Hope to see lots of you out there..

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

I'll be there for sure.  One of my coworkers is thinking about competing so I'm more than likely going to be showing him around so he can get an idea of what a comp is like.

Can't make this time.  As I said before our third boy will be born on Friday, the 28th, if not sooner.  Believe you me my wife is hoping for sooner.   :)  I hope everyone has fun though.

You know, having your baby born as part of the tailgating comp might make you a shoe-in to win it all. ;)

Congrats on the little one arriving soon! ;D

Hey Mike,
How about a guide to times for us spectators to check out the competition, maybe a meet & greet, a designated ambassador if you will, or whatever other spectator friendly things you can think of for us gawkers to get the most out of the event without us getting in peoples way who want to win this comp. We will be out there on Friday. Im looking forward to it.

Friday will just be a laid back day out there.  Competitors will be setting up, getting their food all prepped and starting to cook.

There will be a chance to get a great dinner at Rock Springs Cafe on Friday though.

Then on Saturday, I would say the public times are from 11 am - 5 pm.

Teams will be getting their turn in's ready from about 11 - 2 and right after each turn in, Chicken at Noon, Ribs at 12:45pm, Pork at 1:30 pm and Brisket at 2:15 pm, they will have samples available.  Samples are $2 per sample and you can purchase how ever many you would like.  From that $2, $1 goes back to the teams to help them cover costs and the other $1 goes to the Charity for this event which is the Boys & Girls Club.

Then from about 2 -  4:30, Judges will be judging the Tailgate Throwdown portion of the event.  This will be a great time to be out there as there will be a lot of spirit going on and a lot of great setups and laughs.

Awards will be at 5 pm on the patio.

Hope that is what you were looking for.
