For those of you not attending the Royal - and/or those of you who might like to enjoy smoking a little Que in the brilliant Fall colors of the Rockies - and/or those of you who might want a shot at attending the Jack in 2008 - well, do we have a comp for you in beautiful Park City, UT!!!

The 2nd Annual "Sagebrush & Smoke" will be held in the shadows of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains on Oct. 5-6, 2007, at the Park City Ice Arena and Sports Complex.

This is the 1st for Que at this event. This comp unfortunately will not be KCBS sanctioned this year - but we will be following KCBS rules/regulations, and will actually have Ed Roith (Master Judge with the KCBS) here to oversee the event and the judging. We are also in the process of seeking a Governor's Declaration for the event, and with a minimum of 15 teams cooking all 4 meats, we may end up as a "Qualifier" for the Jack in 2008!!!... Cash prizes will go out to 1st-3rd finishers in each meat category, as well as to the GC and RGC... (There will also be a chili comp as well, for those who might want to enter that as well)...

Visit the comp's website at www.sagebrushandsmoke.com for more details and to download an application.

Hope especially those of you who Que in the AZ, NV, CA, NM, UT, CO, ID, MT, WY, OR, and WA areas will try to join us!!

(And especially since I, too, have a DPP Fat 50, it would be nice to see some of you DPP folks come up with your smokers and let's show the rest of the Que world how it is done on a DPP smoker!!)

Hope to see you here!!

Hoochie,

Welcome to the site, great to have you on here.  Boy that does sound like a fantastic location for a competition.  I wish I had just a bit more notice.  I just took an Oktoberfest Catering gig for that weekend.  If something changes, I will certainly let you know and try to get up there for that competition.

If you get a chance, post some pictures of your Diamond Plate FAT 50 in action.

Hope to meet you soon at one of these great BBQ Events.

Anyone else have that weekend open should consider heading up there, I'm sure it will be a great contest in some beautiful country..

Good Luck!!!

Mike
