Sounds like a great way for us to get started in competion. When and where do we send the entry fees? Had a great time in January with Rino, so now it our turn to see what we can do.

Mike, is there no prize money for these events?  All that I am seeing is a $25 credit for the October comp to the winner.  Great idea and I'm sure we'll be in for one or two.

The prize will be gift certificates to Rock Springs and if we get enough teams, we might have some monetary prizes.

Just like the Brisket comps where there isn't any prize money.  For a $20 entry fee, it's hard to put up prize money with no big money sponsors.  If we get sponsors in, then yes, we will add some to the pot.

Our costs for these events require 20 - 25 teams to compete for us just to break event with Trophies, judging supplies, printing, etc.

These are mainly "Fun" events giving teams a chance to see how their product scores with real Certified Judges.  There will be people's choice there, so you will also be able to make some $$ by doing that.  I'm sure it won't be hundreds of dollars, but I'm sure you will make enough to cover your entry fee & costs..

Hopefully that makes sense..  ;)

WOOT WOOT!!  I'm so excited.  Quick question.  Do we have to sign up for all the events from the get go or can we submit a new registration form for each event?

I'm liking the entry fee for the October event too.  Go to all for summer events then only pay $100 in October, FREE if you when each of the summer events!  Awesome!!

Yes, you can submit for each one separately.

Plus, added incentive.  If you win one of the monthly events, it's another $25 off your October Entry, so if you compete in all four and win all four, your October entry would be FREE!!!

Not a bad deal at all...

Hey Mike, am I missing something?

Your link to food handler testing website thing said "Effective September 1, 2010 exam is conveniently available ONLINE." and the link is right there in the middle.  are those links to the wrong types of exams?  a couple of posts from last month talked about not being able to get out to take a test.

but looks like its there online.

thanks.
