Hey all, we just got the signed contract back, so we are able to officially announce this fantastic news.

Our Headliner Band for Saturday Night's Concert out at the Southwest International BBQ Cook-off will be Mogollon.  If you are not familiar with Mogollon, you must not be very familiar with the Arizona music scene.

They are by far the top band in Arizona and have been for many years.  When I worked up in Flagstaff at the Museum Club in 1991, they were the top draw band that we had at the time.  They have played numerous times at the Tempe Fiesta Bowl Block Party and have a huge following.  We are very excited to have them as our Headliner for our event.  It has just taken the event to an entirely new level.

Here is their bio from their web site:

Mogollon, (pronounced Mug-ee-own) began in the small Northeastern Arizona town of Overgaard. The name of the band is derived from the "Mogollon Rim".
Playing music was a good way for a few high school buddies to impress the girls and to combat the boredom of a small town. After a few performances around the area, people agreed this "hobby" of theirs had potential to become more. And they were right!

Today, Mogollon has earned the reputation as one of the Premier Country Rock Entertainment groups in the West and continues to keep their high standard.  Their scope of performing ability is truly amazing! They can play about anything, from Hank Williams to Pink Floyd to their original written songs.

With great vocals, incredible guitar wizardry, dueling fiddles and a high energy stage show, Mogollon has left people of all ages and all musical tastes wanting more!

For more info on them, please visit their site http://www.mogollonband.com/

They are currently scheduled to play from 9:15 pm until 11:45 pm Saturday night.  Great BBQ during the day and great music at night.  What more could you ask for.  You will certainly want to make sure to stay for Saturday night's concert and leave on Sunday.

The Band playing right before Mogollon is also very well known here in the valley.  They will be playing from 7 pm until 9 pm.

They are Rondavous and we are also very excited to have them playing out at the event on Saturday night.

Mogollon played at our very first contest in 2001 at Westworld. These guys are awesome. Monica and I just did a 'YooHoo'!!! This was probably one of the best times we had in our BBQ career. These guys came on about 10:00 at night and rocked til midnight. It was just for the cooks and we partied hardy!!  Can't wait. Thanks Mike

Yea, we are really excited to have both of these bands, they both have a HUGE following and we are really hoping that they will drive up the attendence at the event.  I'm sure they will.  Now that they are named, we can start promoting them and the concert as well.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen Mogollon play, and every time, they amaze me with their music and their show.  We have something pretty cool planned with them during their set, so that will be another fun thing we have to look forward to.

We have other bands and acts that will be performing all during the day and they are all fantastic, but getting these two as our final 2 bands is great.

Saturday night will certainly be a great, fun night.  Hopefully most of the competitors will stay and not leave until Sunday.  We have some things we are in the planning stages of for Sunday that might increase the incentive for them to stay as well.   We will have more details on that soon.

BBQ, Muisc, EXPO... Heck, I want to attend already and I'm promoting it..  ;D
