Well, it does not appear that I will be able to go back to the Jack this year like I had planned.  I can't justify the cost for just myself.  Thought we would get some members to go and split the costs.

We also have the Famous Dave's Brisket competition that Sunday the 25th as well.

So, I have decided to head up to Flagstaff for the weekend and see some of our Northern Friends.

Post up if you are up there and where we can meet.  We are staying at the new Courtyard up there.  Should be a nice, relaxing weekend.

Real Nice Mike!!!! I will be here. If anyone is looking for some entertainment it is "Tequila Sunrise" that weekend. Bars open at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning for NAU's Homecoming. An absolute disaster :D. I have been to the hotel and it is very nice and a scream of a deal for that rate. I had a friend pay 120 dollars last weekend for a king bed.  Let me know if you need any leg work done Mike. Look forward to meeting y'all.

Dean, I have you all booked and good to go.  I made it for Friday & Saturday just in case.  If you check out early, no problem.

Certainly looking forward to meeting up with you Cornbread as well as stop by Jim Gold's new place.

Let me know what day & time works for you and where.  Don't you own a Deli up there?  Would love to come by there as well.

Let us know..  ;)

When are you heading up Friday Mike?  I might just make a day trip out of it just for the hell of it.

I think that Cornbred mentioned that he owned the Pita Pit.  If memory serves, it's close to Aspen and Leroux in downtown.....of course, I could very wrong.

Um, Isn't the Brisket thing on Sunday?  I know I am good, but how could I do my brisket on Saturday night for the Sunday event if I am in Flagstaff?  What is the hotel's policy on smoked meat preparation in the rooms?

;D  Yes, the Brisket thing is on Sunday.  I will be coming back early in the morning.  I'm sure we could find someone up there to help us cook a brisket on Saturday Night.  We have a few members who live up there..

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

If y'all don't mind a party atmosphere we can do the briskets at my house. I have a bunch of buddies in town for homecoming all good guys.... can get a little rowdy watchin college football. I have one 22" wsm and an 18" wsm and all the bbq supplies so y'all wouldn't have to pack anything bbq related. Crash good memory on the location. I am located basically right where you said in Historic down town. I'd love to feed y'all lunch on Friday at The Pita Pit and show ya around the shop and town! I can introduce you to the other bbq restaurant owners as well.

Sounds good to me Cornbread, count us in for Lunch & Tour on Friday and Brisket cooking on Saturday.

What time is the game on Saturday??

Dean, I'm sure if I brought up a Cambro and we foiled that Brisket and wrapped it in towels, it would hold for 12 hours or more.  Let me know..
