Gaskets for Smokers

As I have been searching intently for a gasket for my smokers I believe I have finally found an awesome gasket. A little history on the gaskets that I have tried. Some have failed others have not, some have been very difficult to install and others have not. Here is my take. I have used the Rutland Rope Gasket and it served me well. I had to build an inner door frame that the gasket wrapped around it was easy and cost very little to replace around 9 - 15 dollars, no glues no mess. I also tried the flat tape gasket. The gasket was held in place with stove cement. Cement gave out and gasket failed. I continued to use the rope gasket, but hated installing the frame. It was very tough to get it perfect. My next trial was the tad pole gasket. It worked but was labor intensive as I had to drill multiple holes and secure it in place with rivets. I have over 100 feet and so if anyone wants some I will let it go at .75 cents a foot. So with that said I am now using a gasket by DAKAR. Its the same that goes on your stove. I had to drill some holes and counter sink them, this was due to the clip that is pre - woven into the gasket to hold it in place. Once the hole are drilled to the correct depth you simply push the clip into place. The gasket runs about 2 bucks per foot. Its an awesome gasket. I have included some photos.

Wow, perfect timing and glad I found your post.   I need 8 feet but my buddy will be building an offset soon so I might as well get him some too IF you still have any left.   Do you have 16 feet left?

Thanks,

Daryl
