Ok everyone has that special tool, table set up, camp wagon/box or whatever that they cannot live without.  Mine is a charcoal box built out of cheap cedar from Homer that hold two big bags.  Looks a lot better than the bags in the yard.  Borrowed idea from Grandpa who used old nail barrells for this job, but I could not locate any so...built this.  Metal ice scoop works great for shoveling.

Now that is a good idea.  I use one of those big plastic containers to hold my charcoal, the ones with the wheels on it so I can move it around at events, but this is a great ideas as well.  I love the ice scoop as well, I will have to get one of those.

We use the scoops for fire extinguisher chemical and if anyone wants one, my cost is around $14.00 plus freight.  They last forever.  Anyone wants one I think they will dropship to anywhere.

My newest quick fix.  Tired of carefully grabbing the chicken from the botton rack of WSM at comp...so introducing the "Bent Spatula 1000" only $9.95 but wait! Theres more.....oh...crap it was an old one, so it was free...

Nice... The secrets of the trade...

Hey, whatever works for you, so all your newbies out there take note.  If there is a tool or something you can think of to make your cooking experience better and you don't see it sold anywhere, make it.  I'm sure if you are thinking it, so are other cookers out there on the circuit..  ;)

For all the Dutch Oven enthusiasts out there, here is a lid lifter that is really super. It helps keep the ashes out of the food. It clamps the lid so there is no having to balance it.

Thought I would add this to old thread since it was here.

Anyone tried these little machines yet?  A friend brought one over and we used it to save a bunch of pork I cooked for him.  I was impressed with the strength the little pump had.  So I picked one up two days ago and played a bit to see how it did compaired to my big regular vacu-seal.  I thought the one problem would be the zip-lock part might leak a bit over a few days, but it's still holding after two days so maybe it will last.  Bags are expensive (9 bags @$3.20 for 1 gallon size, 14 quart size bag for a bit cheaper) but my idea was to take it to comps for leftovers and it would make the ice chest ride home cleaner.  Going to use them for our frozen veggies at home to because were always leaving them in the freezer to long and end up pitching them as they freezer burn.

I have used one of these for awhile now...once you get the hang of how to press the pump on the bag it does work well...we have had stuff in the freezer for 4 months with no burn or anything...I wish I could say longer but that seems to be the longest stuff stays in our freezer.

Been using mine for about 3 months love it.  Easy to use and works well.  The bags are a little expensive but can be washed and used again.
