That is about the only place where I will walk in an order a completely vegetarian meal and be happy about it. Great fresh Syrian flatbread, too. :P

It would be fun to have a club crawl through some of the Valley's different ethnic groceries and eateries. I'm always looking around and have favorite spots for Middle-Eastern, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Eastern European, Caribbean, African, South American and more. :P I really go crazy when I'm in a more international city like L.A. where they have entire communities centered around different ethnicities. (Little Tokyo. Koreatown. Thai Town. Chinatown.) But nowadays, it's virtually impossible to fly and carry on bottles of various exotic sauces and liqueurs. :'(

It used to be called the J&J Arabic Bakery and was running by a very nice Jordanian fellow. He passed away and now it is called the Middle Eastern Bakery Deli. It's between Thomas and Osborn on 16th Street.  Good food and interesting stuff like unroasted coffee beans (You can roast them in a popcorn air popper. Kinda fun.) They have bulk spices plus all kinds of snacks like squash seeds, Jordan almonds (that's why they're called that) and similarly coated fennel seeds-- a good breath freshener. You can buy their pitas and flatbreads hot out of the oven. Doesn't get better than that!
