hello everyone, my name is josh just picked up a new used char-broil silver smoker.  was on the net looking for a place to get wood when i stumbled across this web site. this site looks like the ticket for any ?'s i may have. well glad to be apart of this site..

hey thanks mark. i dont think i need a truck load of wood right off bat. Does Berry bros sell it like maybe 20 logs or however it comes..thinking of getting some hickory or pecan maybe some apple also just to figure out what i want before i spend 150 on a truck load?

From what I understand, they'll work with you just about however you want. Just tell them you're a member of AZBarbeque. I know some of the members have gotten like 50# bundles for about $20.00. Just give them a call, let them know you're a member, and tell them what you want to do.

Josh, I'm glad you've joined the site. Berry Brothers does indeed sell bags of wood for $20/30 depending on the wood type. There's also a lot at 19th Ave just south of Peoria, on the east side of the street who also sells bags. Your best bet on that Char-Broil is to use charcoal--lump preferred, briquettes if necessary--for heat, small chunks--small fist size--for smoke flavor. Just a couple chunks, or you create too much thick smoke, making the food bitter and nasty.
