Hello all,
I just moved here from Boston Ma.  Picked up a weber bullet about 5 years ago and haven't turned back since.  Im always looking to help and be helped in the BBQ world! I have cooked all of the normal pork, beef and poultry (although it didn't all turn out normal!).  I love cooking ribs and pork shoulder and lately have been working on a brisket.
I would love to find some good bbq places around as well as some amateur or friendly bbq competitions.   If I cant find any, I might put one together.  Seems when a lot of BBQ people get around each other, its a good time!
Thanks!

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Kitch, love the call and response on your own joke!  I, also, am broke as a joke (unemployed since I moved down here), but to make lemonaid out of lemons....It has given me plenty of time to experiment on my BBQ!

Thanks for the props! As far as practicing goes, I would, but I can't afford the $ for the charcoal and meats! DW and daughter aren't so receptive of me cooking pork butt and ribs all the time, and a few oversmoked experiments has cast a pall on MY bbq skills for them... :-[

I here yeah about the $$$ to practice.  THats why I was thinking of more of an informal type of comp.  I would love to get together with a few to bunch of guys with there smokers and fire down some ribs or something.  THen compare and contrast.  Also, plenty of down time to do some 12 oz curls.  If there were enough interested, we could get some "judges" (wifes, friends) and let us know whose are the "best".  Let me know if anyone is interested.  I have a decient size yard and a smaller shaded patio if we need a site.
