I'm Willy from Oro Valley by way of Seattle..........thats right, a snowbird.  But only for now.  When the grandkids get older we will be down here full time.  I smoke on a Weber Bullet in Washington and just got a Egg down here.  Enjoy smoking on both of them but they sure are different.  We really enjoyed the Tucson Starpass competition........it was the brisket that the Lil Miss BBQ Team turned out that sold me on the Egg.  They won the best brisket part of the overall competition.  Thought the event at BBQ Island was really great this past Saturday, lots of very creative recipes.............very well done event.  One of the teams, didn't have any more cards left so I don't know their name, cooked some of the best baked beans we have ever tasted.  They said they would post the recipe on the website........sure hope they do cause it was killer.

Looking forward to learning a lot from this site and your future events.

Hello Willy,
Welcome to the AZBB from SoCal. It sounds as if you enjoy interacting with other smokers. It's all good my friend.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!
