Hello All...
I am new to this site and kinda new to the BBQ world, used to own my own restaurant and we did BBQ there, but am looking to expand out into the events and festivals. In need of some advice on the best smoker/grill and if there are any subscriptions to events or newsletters... stuff like that. I am willing to do the work if I could get a lead...
I LOVE THIS SITE!!  you guys have been doing this a long time and would like to join the club...
Thank you for all your help in advance...

first let me say welcome!

this is my two cents ;)

First figure out a few things before choosing a smoker: ;)

How many people do you wish to feed with this machine?

Do you have access to wood or will you use pallets?

owned a restaurant which is great! but remember that your restaurant never moved around, so plan to get a good set up so that you can operate comfortably without having to worry about issues like rain.
Weather in your area? do you need a rig that is super insulated? or maybe you need a permanent roof over the whole thing if it rain a lots in you area?

proper washing area is an absolute must if you will be cooking for general public.

make a list of all those things then start shopping for your BBQ.

hope this help.

cheers,
Martin

Welcome! Glad you found the site. I'll say just jump in, keep an eye on the conversations, and you'll get an idea of who is using which cooker for what. Pretty soon, you'll have some choices narrowed down, and you can investigate and ask a few questions from there. What I've found so far is that your smoker is a very personal choice, one may not like a pellet cooker, but another may swear by it. Take your time, it will come to you.

Welcome to our site!

In your search for a smoker, be sure to go over to BBQ Island in Tempe and ask questions there.  They have a great selection of smokers and can help you find one that suits your needs and stay within your budget.  Bonus?  They are site sponsors and will give you some special pricing!   :)

We have a contest coming up in December right in front of their shop, be sure to get out there for that if you can not make it any sooner.
