i am a long way from AZ but i do love the place as i have passed through many times in my younger days visiting family in California.My name is Raymond Cato Sr. i am 30 yrs old and at the moment unemployed due to the plant i was working at as an electrician closed.i am a father of three with my oldest getting involved in Q,ing as well .he has done one comp where he got GC and he loves to cook with me whenever he comes to my house on weekends.i am currently cooking on a bbq grillware stainless charcoal grill,a bbq pro offset,just finished a uds which i have to tweek some more,and my son has an ecb at my house.Look forward to being a part of the group.

Welcome Ray - I am from Columbus, GA origionally but have lived in Scottsdale, AZ for about 11 years now. You will enjoy this website. I have gotten some great info. and hope to see some fellow smokers at up coming competitions.

How far are you from Ft. Benning?  My wife and I are heading out there next week to see our son who is in Basic Training out at Ft. Benning. 

We are staying in Newman, GA while we are there.  Probably try to hit a few BBQ joint while we are back there. Any suggestions?

Mike - Since you are going to be in Ft. Benning which is basically Columbus, GA. I would try Macon Road Barbecue. It is a little whole in the wall place but they turn out some great BBQ. I try to go there every time I am back visiting family. Hope this helps.
