hey all,

i just checked out your forum here.... i liked it, so here i'am. ive been doing BBQ for 20 years. i have owned several BBQ joints over the years, i would open one up from scratch then sell them for profit...[nothing wrong with that...eh?] . i currently own a place in lake city colo. its a spring, summer, fall mountian town. it's called "Smoque Shack BBQ". i live in texas in the winter.i'm also an avid biker, i ride a 2009 harley ultra classic. i have 3 kids [grown] and 2 grandkids......life is good!!!

Welcome, Jeff. It is always good to have BBQ operators posting on the site. Owning a Que joint is many posters dream. (And having owned one is some folks' nightmare)  ;) Your insight is invaluable.

yes owning a BBQ joint can be stressful. i have had 4 of them. but it's something i truly love to do.  my place [in lake city co.] is open from may- oct. 7 days a week. i put in 90-100 hours a week and take the rest of the year off....in texas i can ride 90% of the winter......can't do that in colorado. btw. heres pics of my bike.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!
