Just signed up and feeling my way around.  I vacation out in Tucson at least twice a year with family.  I've already have met a few of you from being out at BBQ contests.

For those that don't know me.  I compete in BBQ contests as cancersuckschicago.com.  My team is made up of my daughters, Zoe age 11 and Lexi, age 7 along with my sister Liz Anne.  My wife, Corliss, passed away from cancer 5 1/2 years ago.  I started a 501c3 in her memory to help in the fight against cancer.  Our foundation makes donations every year for cancer research and also to assist those that are effected by cancer, including their families.  My BBQ team has had a little success on the BBQ circuit and we donate our money back to the foundation.

Hope to meet some of you out on the circuit.  As I want to be able to try and cook in all the states eventually!!!    :)

Welcome Scottie,

Yep, just a little success.  Just one of your "standard" years would be a career for most.  Hopefully we will get the chance to meet face to face sometime soon.

Keep up the great work you do on Cancer, it does suck.  My aunt just completed her final rounds of treatment for Breast Cancer and it looks like she will win this fight, so we are truly blessed.

See you soon

David

Hi Scottie.  Good to see you here and I hope you're able to make it out for the November contest.  I really admire how you've turned your love of barbeque into a charitable foundation and that you travel all over the country competing and raising awareness.  You are respected among your peers far more than you realize.

Oh, and don't worry about the snakes.  The weather is far too cool in November for the little serpents to be milling around.  They'll likely already be hibernating.
