Hello,
Another newbie from the far west valley.
I've had a growing interest in BBQ for about three years. I got started when I added a WSM to my weber kettle. From there it grew and I eventually added a Chargriller w/SFB to the collection. It was strictly backyard stuff, but we thought it was pretty good, and the neighborhood seemed to agree. However, I knew I would need a lot more practice before it compared to the Que being produced by some of the teams here.
At the beginning of the year, I was talking to my sister and brother in law in Tucson. At the time I didn't even know they were interested in BBQ, but it turns out they were pretty good cooks. They told me they were forming a BBQ team with Mark Smith, so I kind of tagged along with the Smith Family Robinson team to the Taylor event. They needed a third person to watch the smokers anyway. I mean, they had three smokers and only two people to watch them, so it worked out well.
I'm looking forward to future events and talking about BBQ. I got a chance to meet a few of you at Taylor, and hope to have an opportunity to meet more of you. We plan on going to Viejas, as well as the Pulte event which will practically be in my backyard.
