Hello all! My name is Steve and I like red meat. My first smoke was about 12 years ago and it was horrible! Tried a basic chuck roast over hickory and it tasted like a burnt hickory stump. Continued working on my technique for about 5 years and at least got to a point we could eat the end product. My family still prefers my smoked turkey breasts over oven baked or deep fried.
Due to various life events, had to put this and most other activities on hold but I am back:) and loving it. Starting out small with a Brinkmann 2 door vertical for now and just completed my first smoke with it using one of the $2.99/lb tri tips from Fresh & Easy. Man was it good!!! Added some grilled potato slices seasoned with a rosemary/garlic mix and bbq beans. Felt good to be back in the drivers seat. The little vert will do for now and actually did pretty good maintaining 230 through the cook. Next up will be a uds.
thx for your time...Steve
