It's actually not to bad.  I smoked some ribs (from costco also) on Saturday and they turned out pretty tastey.  Only complaint would be is the bag had some large 'Logs' in it, other than that it worked and smelled great.  Bought 3 bags, 120# for < $40.  I'll look you up next time my there.

I bought 4 bags if nothing else use it for parties and test cooks. That gives me a little over 400 lbs total. Hope that last for a while. I have always liked our ribs.

I bought the 40 pound bag at walmart for 11.99 also. My only complaint is the super large logs but they are great in the smoker. I prefer the smaller chunks for use the webber kettle.

Or you can break up the tree trunks with a hammer...let the fun begin!! Then every day is the 4th of July..LOTS of sparks. RD has the same stuff, also right at $10..Sams and Smart & Final carry the 40s of Best of the West. Pretty much the same stuff. $15.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Stay far away from this junk.  I bought two bags for a grill out for our church and it was filled 1/3 with just ash.  It also had super large chunks and tons of twigs, and twine.  It probably yielded about 1/4 per bag of useful fuel.  It does burn hot but had very few useable pieces.  I will never buy this junk ever again.

I did have some type of plastic in it.  I thought about what Chris said when I found all this other stuff in the bag and most of it was soot.  It almost ruined my cook by making me miss my deadline.

Yikes! I just picked up a bag of this today! Maybe I should try it out for a burger cookout first!

I use it in my Kamado. I set aside the bigger chunks for my largest K. Even the silt at the end burns in my ceramic cooker, although it is kind of messy, especially when you reach in with your entire arm.
