I see a lot of work going on at the new Woody's BBQ at 57th Ave & Peoria. Their website shows them to be big in Florida and other eastern states. Has anyone been to any of their other restaurants? Since they're right around the corner, I'll have to check them out when they open.   8)

Long time reader first time poster, I took my two engineers here for lunch today eager to try a new BBQ joint. food was average considering we got what must have been the last days left over BBQ (we tried it all, pulled (both kinds), ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken, beans, and slaw) none of it stood out but none of it was completely terrible, yet all our meat dishes were cool/cold (even though we waited for 20mins for lunch even being only one of two tables in the restaurant at the time). My biggest complaint is their sauces, i mean a couple were ok (they offer Carolina, mustard, sweet bbq, and spicy) but two of the 4 literally looked like baby diarrhea, one gray/brown colored (spicy) and the other green (mustard). Not only does food need to taste and smell good, but it had to look appetizing to some degree as well but poring this sauce on my meat made my stomach turn. Sorry to be the barer of bad news for folks on the west side but it was not worth the time.

Carolina mustard sauce does look like baby diarrhea...if it's made right. ;)

Well, thats disappointing! I saw the dancing pig out by the sidewalk yesterday on the way home from work. Sounds like maybe he escaped from the kitchen or cut a deal with the cook to advertise the joint or he'd end up in the smoker.

We will probably try it to say we did, since its around the corner. Guess we better make it at the dinner hour! ;D
