Something interesting from the article is:

He didn't always have that freedom. At Arizona State, coaches wanted their quarterback to stick with the called play, even if it meant disastrous results. Dump-offs to the running back were verboten.

"The coaches in college were so scared to death of anyone making a play outside the norm," Walter said. "They would get mad at you for doing something like that, so it was frustrating."

Look at Peyton, he changes every play, sometimes a few times before each snap.  Seems like it works for him, but I'm sure it wouldn't for everyone.

I have been asking for years why there is not a dump off pass to the running back. Walter lets us in on how Koetter runs things. Sometimes when things break down that is when big plays happen. But Koetter does not want that to happen. He only wants his play run. That is messed up. So if a defense has his offense figured out then we are in trouble because the offense can not improvise. Crazy stuff!! >:(
