This is huge! The interesting thing is that ESPN is reporting that several players went to Koetter to tell him he made the wrong choice! I guess a lot of players HATE Keller. From what I am hearing he is a jackass in his personal life. I guess Rudy is the opposite and the team loves him. Hard to lead a team that hates you!! ;D ;D

Someone posted this on another board! Could be more rumors! We will see!

Press Conference Info
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Koetter cleared up the speculation re: Keller after practice tonight.

He said that Keller did NOT quit the team, but was excused from attending tonight's practice to think about his options. Keller needs to weigh his options because Koetter said that he realized he made a mistake on Friday in naming Keller the starter and appointed Carpenter the starter over the weekend.

Sam took the news very hard and is now trying to figure out how he wants to proceed.

Dirk's an idiot if that is the case, I'm sure it's not like he didn't realize this sooner...

Can't have this kind of distraction, it will split the team.

I too have heard from many people, fans, students, teammates, etc. that Sam is a real cocky ass, but having not met him personally, I can't verify that.

His comment last year on how he was so good that sometimes he had to pinch himself really irked me....

Damn Soap Opera!!!

Good, he deserves it... This kind of crap is not acceptable.  Besides, the seniors should have voiced their concerns to Dirk before he made his decision, not after.  They are all to blame...

It sounds like everyone thought Rudy was going to get the job so there was no need to speak up. Then when Koetter named Keller the started they felt compelled to speak up. Sounds like there are a lot of players who hate Keller. But Koetter needed to be much more in touch with his team so that he would have known that before he made his choice! He seems to be way out of touch with the team. That is not good! >:( >:(

Did anyone see what Koetter said on the news tonight? He was asked the same question about taking Sam back on the team and this time he said something different. He said, “Under the right circumstances, we would take him back.” He then added that it would be some things that he and Sam would have to work through. Now that is different than what was said before. That does make it sound like something else is going on here. What are your opinions??

Oh, I totally think there is something else going on.  I heard some rumors that something happened either in the locker room or just after he left the locker room.  Don't know what it was, but that is what I have been hearing.

Sounds almost like something displinary....Hummmmm  :-[
