crop of one n' doners
So, now one player is a "crop".
Only first year player probable to leave is Aaron Gordon. Very slight possibility that Hollis-Jefferson may. Nick Johnson, probably gone but, then again, he has been here 3 years.
Always tough to lose in the NCAA tournament. The road was made a lot tougher when we lost one of our best players half way through the season. But, $h*t happens, right? Just like it happened to the other #1 seeds. At least we are pretty much a lock to get into the NCAA tournament next year and probably the favorite to -- again -- win the PAC-12.
ASU won't have a decent program -- ever -- with Sendek. He is a great guy and a good coach. But he just doesn't have the personality to be a consistently good recruiter, so he won't have a consistently good program. But I haven't heard WHY so many players and an assistant coach jumped ship this year -- with lots of available playing time opening up next year. Anything on the local news there?
But, like you said, Mark, all the best players coming out of high school want to get to the NBA as quickly as possible. I am encouraged that the NCAA and the NBA may be working toward requiring players to stay in college for at least two years.
