Move over SMU, ASU will soon be claiming the top spot for most major NCAA violations.  If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.

If the NCAA finds a major violation occurred, it would be ASU's ninth such case since 1953, more than any other school in the country. ASU is now tied for violations with Southern Methodist University in Texas, which was given the "death penalty" by the NCAA in the 1980s when it banned the football program from competing for three years.

Guess now we know why Murphy was unceremoniously rushed out of town.

Nice diversion attempt.

Livengood took the UNLV job because he had no choice.  His contract was set to expire in June and he had already been told it would not be renewed.  The boosters and Shelton wanted him out.  I have mixed feeling on whether his departure is a good or bad thing.

The bigger concern for UA fans is Mark Stoops is leaving to become the Defensive Coordinator at Florida State and there is concern that Livengood will try to lure Sonny Dykes to UNLV.  But that's what happens at successful programs, thier coaches become sought after commodities.  How's Rich Olson doing these days?

Shall we talk about the job that Lisa Love is doing at Allegation State?  UA forced out a successful AD because they have higher expectations.  ASU is holding on to an incompetent AD that has failed to keep the university out of trouble.   A lack of institutional control falls directly on the lap of the AD.  ASU fans should expect better from both their AD and their president.   As this story grows the pressure will mount.  I expect ASU will soon be conducting an AD search of thier own.

With any luck ASU's basketball program won't get dragged down by this.  Sendek is a good coach and is building a solid program.  I would like to see a legitimate basketball rivalry between ASU and UA.
