What is the reasoning behind not having a team list?

Just trying something different...   ;)

Is not seeing a team list holding you back from signing up?  If so, Why??

I might have to agree with no team list. If you are going to the contest to win what the hell does it  matter who is on the list.  I don't remember seeing an easy list of teams in any of the contest that we went to.  I say not list, show up and do your best.

Good luck to all.

I have to agree with Rod, Does knowing who is going to be there make you cook any different.
I thought we were doing this because it is a passion to do so. Reallity is that some teams
look at this as much more and for them I must say " balls to the wind baby ". Personal joke.

On any given weekend anyone can win. No one is a lock these days.  Too many good teams out there.

Man Crash I heard you guys were going to be there. As for me it really doesn't matter who shows it will not effect the way we do things anyhow. So I say come one come all we are ready for ya.

Simply wanted to know the reasoning. "Trying something new" answered my question. The reason I do not want to cook in this comp. is not because the lack of knowing the other teams competing, it's the lack of knowing the rules. This sport, hobby or passion is subjective enough.

The Rules will be out tomorrow, so hopefully that entices you to sign up.

They are very similar to what you are used to, if anything, much more simpler.  Our group has decided to go forward with the K.I.S.S. concept.  I think the majority will like it.

Hope to see you out there..  ;)

I really don't mind a list or not but it is cool to see a top team on the list knowing that you're going to be going up against them.  Not having a list wouldn't make or break a comp for me but the timing, finances, getting time off work, and weather are the biggest reasons for me to not do a comp.

I have to agree with you, Scott, I enjoy seeing big names and quality cooks at competitions to validate my abilities. It is better to look at the scores and see I am only X-points behind some of the best even when in last place but can then can concentrate on how to be better while learning what the Judges expect. The hardest thing with the competitions is the timing, I spend most of my time not working in the catering business as most of my work is on Fridays, Saturdays and an occasional Sunday. Sad to say, the only time I work is when Competitions are happening, Friday and Saturday! Finances is another motivator as it is not a very profitable hobby but fun when I can afford it.

Speaking of Rules, Is it tomorrow yet?
