I'll certainly make a go at it. DAL out of 8-10 is certainly better than DAL out of 30...for one of you, that is. So the as-of-yet un-manned, un-named team is about 90% yes.

We're still going through all the posts to try and piece everything together.  This sounds like something we'd like to do, but we need to get a smoker first I think.  So, we are not sure sure yet about the Buckeye event, but are keeping an open mind.  We just entered the Prescott backyard throwdown as something fun to do - had no idea how high tech and professional all you guys are!  It's mind boggling actually~~~ LOL

This one would be a fun, informational one for you.  The Pulte one would be a great one to come out and really get your feet wet.  The December BBQ Island one will also have a backyard competition like Prescott did..

We recommend having Food Handler's cards at a minimum..  But for this event, you should not need more than that..

Ok all I am in for this event...... Steel City BBQ is up and running and ready to jump in... although I do have one question how do I get my Food handlers permit??? and also what else do you need to have for the bigger events?

To get a Food Handler's permit, just look up where the closest place to you is and go in and take the test.

It is a very Easy, common sense test.  You can study the guide right on line.  It took me all of 7 minutes and that included waiting to get my photo taken and the card printed.

For the larger contests, you need to have the same things, 3 bin cleaning, Hand wash station, Hot water, etc.
