Hey all, Famous Daves has graciously agreed to sponsor & host another Brisket only Competition at their Arrowhead location.

We are trying to find some dates that would work.

It is looking like we have 2 dates open.

Sunday, October 18th or Sunday, October 25th.

I know the Jack is going on the weekend of the 25th, but other than Jay, Vince & The Blakes, I don't know of any other AZ teams heading back there.

Let me know ASAP what the interest is so I can get back with Famous Daves.

Same setup as last time. Entry will be $10 per Brisket, you can bring as many Briskets as you want.  You will need to bring them already done, but not sliced.  The slicing will be done onsite and you will box it right there.  We will have some KCBS judges there to offer suggestions on boxing as well as presentation.

This is a Fun contest, last time we had 26 Briskets and over 40 of our members show.

So, should we move forward with planning this?

This was a fun event last year.  That being said, we will be at Viejas the weekend of the 18th.  I wish i could but I can not commit to the 25th at this time either.   

But...If we "could" make then the 25th would be better.

Forgot about Viejas.. Don't know how many AZ teams will be out there.  25th might work better, but let's still gage the interest.  If we can get 20 - 25 briskets and 40 members again, we will do it either weekend.

25th works for me. As long as Famous Daves allows to do a shot of Jack in honor of our fellow AZ BBQ teams who will be out at Lynchburg competing that day!

How about if we have to use Jack in some form during the process. In the sauce, injected into the meat, or consumed to stay awake and tend the fire.

I don't know, Jack's not too good at keeping me awake. Seems to have the opposite effect.
