Flying to Chicago to see my brother and 99 year old mother.  My brother and I go over to his friends house and he deep frys all the birds for the neighbors. We bring a 12 pound-er to eat while we are cooking. Then we cook one for dinner. In the meantime we have another bird in the smoker for sandwiches later after dinner. We usually have one in the oven with stuffing, can't have enough turkey and dressing hanging around. We then go over to my nephew's home for a sit down dinner with the rest of the family.
All in all there are around 5 to 6 birds done on that day for my family.

The absolute best day of the year to me!!!

Yeah Thom - I used to think Country's was good BBQ until I got into BBQ myself and have tasted some other teams BBQ. You just can't beat some of the BBQ at competitions!!  :)

Wow! all these cool sounding plans for Thanksgiving. Youngest is away in NE at college this year and the oldest is off to the Dunes and that is all that is left of family out here so we are thinking of starting a new "empty nester" tradition..... VEGAS BABY!  I am going to be the Turkey... Don't know if I will be deep fried but definitely fried

Safe travel to all
