Title: Superbowl Party BBQ
Post by: Mike (AZBarbeque) on January 01, 2006, 04:12:14 pm
Hey all, this is our annual Superbowl party BBQ and this year, it will be held at our buddy Mark's house located in Peoria.  If you are interested in joining us for this fun event, please respond here or send me a private IM and I can provide you directions.

We haven't decided what we will be cooking that day, so any suggestions are more than welcome.

Hope to see you all there.  I'm sure it will be a great game regardless of which teams are in it.

Are you ready for some Football???  & BBQ???

Mark,  I'm already drooling over what we can have on the menu for that day.  I can't wait.

Everyone, let's hear your ideas on what would be a great meal for Superbowl Sunday...

Me, I'm all for Pulled Pork or Pulled Chicken sandwiches as well as possibly some of Ryan's Campfire Chili.

Guy's, let's here from you....

Also, please respond on here if you plan on attending and enjoying this fantastic once a year event with us.  Hope to see you there.

OK, talked with the Host (Mark) of this year's Superbowl Party and we have set a preliminary menu for the event.

Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Beer Brats
Hot Dogs
Cajun Smoked Shrimp (This alone is worth showing up for)
Beer Can Chicken

What's everyones thoughts on that menu?  Any other suggestions?  We will be going shopping the week before the Superbowl.

Right now, Mark says we are expecting anywhere from 40 - 50 people, so if you want to join us, you have to respond on here, e-mail me or call Mark or I and R.S.V.P.

We will have our normal football pool going on, some special activity for Halftime as well as our famous Superbowl Commercial voting game.

Hope to see you there...

Go GIANTS!!!  (That one was for you Mark)
Title: Superbowl XL
Post by: Mike (AZBarbeque) on January 23, 2006, 06:46:09 am
Wow, what a great Playoff weekend that was.  Pittsburgh just dominated the Broncos, they just threw them completely out of sync.  And Seattle just manhandled the Panthers.

SO..... That leaves us with Seattle Seahawks vs. The Pittsburgh Steelers in SUPERBOWL XL in Detroit.  Visit the official website for more details...www.Superbowl.com (http://www.Superbowl.com)

This should be a great Superbowl Game.... Hope to see you at the party... Come join us for some great BBQ, some great Superbowl Trivia, a great game, and of course, some great friends...

E-mail or call me for details...

ABT is a atomic buffalo turd.  A chile, usually jalepneos stuffed with cheese, meats, aromatics etc. wrapped with bacon than grilled or bbq'd.
My favorite is lump crab meat, with olive oil, cream cheese, slat papper, garlic, and shallot. half a slice of bacon wrapped at the top and secured with a toothpick. I then place them on skewers and use foil wrapped bricks to hold them upright.
Give it a try, but be warned...they go fast.

Several places sell chile holders. I will find and link tried and tested. wal-mart sells them, but I hear the holes are too small for large chiles, and small chiles dont hold much filling. Have heard people using peppers from the mild cherry peppers to habeneros.
It is sometimes a good idea to make 2 batches of chiles. Cut out the inside white membrane on one batch for those who dont like food too hot. The membrane is what holds the heat, when this is cut away, it makes a very mild jalepeno, leaving just the flavor.
