Yea, the Great American BBQ in KC is that weekend and that's a biggie.  98 teams is good with a month out.  I don't see why it couldn't reach 150 or so.  Fuel and the late contest announcement are going to hurt it a bit though.  All I know is I'm going to show up and cooked to the best of my ability and spend some time at the craps table.
Isn't that just a code word for a bbq comp???  :D :D ;)

Has anyone looked at the schedule on this one. Registration and load-in is friday by 5pm. Turn-ins start sunday @ noon and we are not allowed to leave until 8pm. What are we supposed to do all day saturday? Is there PC?

Since we live in Vegas, gambling and hanging out at a casino is about as fun as staying sober at a 2 year olds birthday party.

It's all fun and games until you run out of wood.....then the neighbors will lose a tree.

They have other things going on Saturday so everyone has to be in place Friday night.

Worse case couldn't you just go back home since you live there?

It just seems odd they would want a full day of teams sitting around not cooking or doing anything. You're right, we could just go home however that is not really part of the competition experience. I would also have concerns about leaving my gear unattended all night/day.

Congrats to all the teams!  The amatuer division rocked it on Saturday...they had a blast.  Guests were on the hunt for samples on Sunday...hopefully the health dept will be more willing to work with the event next year.
We had a blast!  Thanks to the Orleans Hotel and Smoke on the Water Productions for making this event possible.  Looking forward to next year already.

What a great event. Congrats to all the ARIZONA teams.  Great showing guys against some top tier competition.  Also, our friends in Utah, and Las Vegas.  Great showing guys.

Looking forward to Ron's announcement on next year contest. These guys put on a great event, and the Orleans took great care of all the teams...Except the 10.00 a bag ice.....
