Hey all, here at AZBarbeque we have been working with several organizations over the years that have really meant a lot to us, the Autism Community, Cancer Causes and the MDA.

Personally, we have worked with the MDA (Jerry Lewis' Labor Day Marathon) for over 20 years.  For the past 4, we have worked with a group within that organization called SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy).  Each November, our group has come together during their annual Walk & Roll and helped supply the food for them & their great group.  This has truly been an amazing & blessed experience.

This year they came to us and asked if we could also help with their new Fundraiser up in Flagstaff and of course, we said "YES".

This is where you all come in.  Once again, we are asking for our member's help to make this event a success.

The date is Saturday, September 21st, 2013.  It will be at:

Fort Tuthill County Park
2446 Fort Tuthill Loop
Flagstaff, AZ

Visit http://www.fsma.org/Fundraising/EventsCalendar/index.cfm?ID=7832&TYPE=1394 for more info.

We have been asked to serve dinner at 5 pm.

If you can help out and are able to, please post up here what you can bring and how many people you can bring to assist.  We typically don't need a lot of people at the event, but all the help is certainly welcome.

This is a great cause and these are some amazing kids & people.  If you are able to help, we GREATLY Appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Great! Through my company I am one of the primary sponsors for the SMA golf tourney every May. If I am not traveling for work I will be glad to help out with this! This is a great organization that has personally helped a family member of one of my employees. I urge everyone to do what they can to help them out.

Great suggestion, Thanks Crash.  Already reached out to Jaime from Sachamo's & Big John from Big John's Texas BBQ.  Hopefully we have a great response.

Going to try to make it this year.  In addition, I have access to Fr Tuthill USAF recreation site located within Ft. Tuthill County park. If there is space available I can make reservations for those who plan or would plan on staying the weekend. You could just walk to the event. They have A-frames that will accommodate up to 12 people.  Let me know if anyone is interested and I will try to make reservations but in the mean time I will see if there is any room at the inn.  They also have RV sites, hotel and tent sites.

I checked room availability this morning at Ft. Tuthill and if anyone is interested they have an A-Frame available Sept 20th - 21st can accommodate 6 people it's $130/night so if there's 3 couples out there we can split it 3 ways.

Mike, I did reserve a room for you in the hotel, double bed $65/night check in is 3pm.  When you get a chance could you call me on my cell? Thanks.

On this A-Frame I mentioned, don't need to be couples.  Two bedrooms, a bathroom, and moderate kitchen facilities.  It provides accommodations for six people.  All amenities are included along with towels and linens.  There is one double bed, two twin beds, and one full size pull-out couch. Details of the A-Frame if anyone is interested.

This is a great cause, seeing these kids will make you rethink your life. The kids are smiling with out a care in the world, all the while knowing what thier short future holds for them.

SMA has asked  AZ Barbeque to donate food a a little time to serve after their event. Why not throw an extra butt on, that test cook brisket, put a salad togetherr, do up a pan of sausage and onions.  Anythingyou can do to help this group out. You can make it a great day trip. If you can't make it up there but want to help speak up. I will be able to take some of it for you.

This really is a great group to work with. So post up and let us know who and what you can bring, or make for these kids and thier families.

Hey Bob and Mike,

Not sure if we can make it, but Q-To-U-BBQ (Karyn and I) would be more than happy to cook up some extra butts for the cause.  I can also make up a couple Half pans of slaw if that would help raise some funds for a good cause.

Let us know if that would work.
