Too Bad it's not an "Official" AZBarbeque supported event or Team of the Year event.

I'm sure they would have gotten more teams had it been...

Good Luck to all the teams going.  If you are NOT going, hope to see you all out at the Chandler BBQ event that day http://www.azbarbeque.com/forums/index.php?topic=9068.0

Chandler is an "Official" AZBarbeque event..

IAB 30 BBQ is in for Scottsdale.  We'll be heading to Chandler afterward to support the Chandler event too.

We're in for Scottsdale as well!  It should be a great event but it's unfortunate both are on the same weekend.  I just checked the site and it looks like there are 24 teams signed up with a month to go.  $20k in prize money and a ton of peoples choice sounds like a good time to me.

24 teams......hmmmm.  I wonder if the higher entry fee played a part in the low team count?

Still, you know there are some teams out there waiting to sign up.  I bet it gets 40 teams, still a far cry from last year's event.

I love animals.  They're delicious!

I wonder if running the same time as Chandler will hurt them at all? Or if it's the three plus dollars a gallon for fuel.

I don't think having the events on the same day effected either one.  One is a competition, and the other is a Sampling/Peoples Choice.  Two very different formats.  Both entry fees are very high.  400.00 for Scottsdale and 350.00 for Chandler.

The public entry fee is the same as well.  I guess it comes down to do people want to see bbq restaurants, bbq competitors or just BBQ.
