Hey, I just found out that Jobing.com Arena is hosting a Rib Cook-off on 3-12/13 and 14. I haven't seen anything on this so I thought I'd put it out there. Mike I'll call you so you can touch base with them.

It's not happening. They tried to get us to help them out, but they are all messed up. As far as we know, they are now just trying to scramble and find some licensed vendors to sell BBQ Ribs, nothing else. Be wary, they are a fly by night group...

Darryl said there is vending Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a competition on Saturday. He said Roger from Thee Pits is going to be there and Wild Bunch Catering, and a few other BBQ catering/vendors.

Yea, we turned them down for doing a comp there and told them they really just needed big catering teams that could cook a lot of ribs out there.
They wanted to charge each competitor $800 per space plus 65% of your take and you needed to supply ribs to the public for 3 straight days.
Not something we wanted to be a part of.

Why not? That sounds like a smoking deal to me.  Especially if you're the organizer! WOW! I saw Cheryl Wagner--Mrs. Roger--@ Sam's Club, she said he was cooking somewhere this weekend. Whatta deal.

The word on the street that I heard was that it went over very poorly. The pictures that I saw of this event did not look promising.
