Are there any Flagstaff/Williams, (towns, etc) that have a BBQ competition contest? 

As we're limited to good bbq here in FLG, be great to have and/or participate in a local/Northern AZ contest? 

There was a chili cookoff a few weeks ago?  Be great for Labor Day, or so..

First off, welcome to the site, great to have you here. 

We do have some events in the works for up North.  The hardest part is finding sponsors for events up there.  Most sponsors we work with don't do much business in the Northern part of the state.  If you have some contacts up there, certainly let us know as we would love to talk with them and get something planned for up there.  I LOVE Flagstaff.  I lived up there for several years and even worked at The Zoo for 2 years.  Still the best job I have ever had.

Also, as you talk with people at other events, tell them about us and what we do and hopefully we will get them onboard as members and possibly sponsors of events.

Hope to see you online here more as well as out at many of our upcoming events.

Thanks for the link, I happened upon that earlier, after my post.  Will plan on attending/participating come September. 

Mike, Ive got several contacts up here, and will follow-up with them as to interest.  I'll speak with the Jaycess and/or Rotary as well, and get there thoughts/ideas on the subject.

Jaycess and Rotary's are great.  Our upcoming Prescott cook-off in September is with a Rotary. 

All of our events we try to associate a charity or charitible organization with and have done incredibly well with raising money for them.  Last year AZBarbeque and our members helped raise over 200K for Charities.  Our members ROCK.

Let us know what you can do up there, I know we tried once before to do an event up there and ran into Fire Restriction issues.

Mike, I'm looking forward to the Prescott event, either as a contestant or judge, as my schedule allows. I thought I should mention that my wife is the financial analyst for the Central Yavapai Fire District. As such, I (actually she) may have contacts that could work to help avoid cancellations for events up in that neck of the woods.

Thanks for the Fire help, the City of Prescott's former fire Chief and current Emergency services director is my neighbor, we will have not problems.
