The Tucson Homebrew Club is planning a Summer Chill campout up on Mt Lemmon on July 18 & 19, 2009.  Mt. Lemmon is a great place to be during the heat of the Summer -- 30 degrees cooler than in Tucson.  BBQ folks are welcome.  It will be at the Whitetail  campground, lots of room for pitching tents and a bit of room for not-too-large campers / RVs.

They are interested in trying to roast a whole pig up there, using the pig roast-type pit.  So I will be helping them with that.

As usual, they will have lots of great home brews.  Anyone coming, bring potluck-type sides.  I am also sure no one would mind if some of us brought our smokers and cooked up some tasty "nibblin' food"

I will post more info as I get it.

Hey Dean (and Eddie too, if you are gonna make it).  Drop me an email.  I'm planning on doing some smoking up there.  If you are, too, let's coordinate so we don't do too much of the same thing.  I will be bringing my ProQ Excel 20, which you are welcom to also use if you don't want to haul your smoker down.

My email is mikepintucson at msn dot com

I will be in Dana Point CA next weekend, wish I could be in two places at once!

If anyone is thinking about attending this, I can HIGHLY recommend it.  Get out of the heat and enjoy home made brews, music, food and some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

The Whitetail campground up on Mt. Lemmon is awesome!  If you like to camp out under cool, shady pine trees this is the place.  Go have fun next weekend, cool off and meet some new people!  You'll be glad you did.

Just want to bump this, if anyone is going to be in Tucson this weekend, or you are looking for something to do, this will be a great time.  PM Mike P. If you are going, I bet he could use a little help doing some meats as well.

I will bring my ProQ Excel20 up.  It looks like someone else already signed up to bring pulled pork.  So I will probably do brisket.  If anyone else will be coming, you are welcome to cook on my smoker.

Come on up.  It is nice and cool up on Mt. Lemmon.  The campground is at 8,000 feet elevation, so the temperature (and the vegetation) is about the same as Pinetop.  A cool 30 degrees cooler than in Tucson.
