Everyone should plan on spending the month of May in Nevada.  Between Boulder City, Laughlin, and the big daddy in Las Vegas.  Great place to be.

Been reading the comments and glad to see that there is some interest around the event.  Yes this is a year one event and Yes we hope to increase the prize money.  Because it is a year one event we are unsure as to the turnout so we wanted to stay on the conservative side for our budget.  Please feel free to email me: dmantineo@cookmanfood.com if you have any questions.  Also check out the website: http://riversidebrewbq.com/ for updated information.  Breweries and teams are signing up and we hope to have a really good turnout for the first year.  Also, the Riverside Resort is already booking out rooms for that weekend.  we are also close to closing some of our entertainment for that weekend.  We can't wait.  The Rotary clubs of laughlin and Bullhead City can't wait either as they are the benificiary for the event.

From Basso's forum:

Smoke on the Water is trying to finalize our 2011 schedule. We've been working on a big contest and Rib Festival in Vegas at one of the casino properties third weekend in May. Prize money is guaranteed $150,000. Payout through 70 places. $500 flat entry fee with electricity and water. $45 hotel room rates if needed. Entry fee includes $250 in casino value with match play, buffets, show tickets and more. They are wanting teams to come in on Friday, competition would be Saturday and Sunday. I'm just polling interested teams to get feed back if this is an event that would be well attended. All we have to do is sign the contract and announce it officially. I'm going to hang up and just listen to comments. Thanks for your participation.

I saw that this morning.  That would be an awesome event and once it's official it's going on the calendar.
