Great news guys!
Looks like Lake Pleasant will be a go for us on November 3-4! This is the perfect time to be in Arizona! I am working with the park to get all the other details. The plan so far is to have willing competitors camp out on Friday night so they can start grilling as early as they wish for the event on Saturday. Any competitor will be aloud to camp or not as long as that teams entry is ready by judging time. No cooking at home, all food must be prepared onsite. No marinating early either. However once you check in for the camp and have been inspected you may begin.
This will be a charity event with the proceeds going to the 2007 Walk for Autism Research! Autism Speaks is a great organization that has risen over $70 million to research Autism. If anybody here has questions about Autism check out www.Arizonaautismsupport.org
This event will be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to finding many corporate sponsors willing to donate prizes.
Keep checking back often I will post details here often.
Yours
Devil Daddy!

Nov 3&4???? :o :o :o Any chance of pushing it up and back one week? Or too late to do that?
-
Can't go back a week as the rest of November is booked solid for us. Moving it up one week might be possible to the last weekend in October...
Ryan, your thoughts??
-
Reason I am asking is that is the weekend for Qfest. We made plans and announced that we will be going a few months ago. I don't want to renig on attending, but would hate to miss the lake pleasant event. In fact I would like to help as much as i am able with the event. One of things being to get word around in the white mountain area.
-
:'( :'( :'( nooooooo it's my b-day week .notice i don't say day hehehe!
-
When you get that old, you need a full weekend to celebrate ;D ;D ;D
-
Maybe we can get a collection for a B-day gift to CS. I kinda thinking maybe a pony keg strapped to a rascal scooter!!
-
Bear,
I am so very sorry about the timing of the event. I would really love having you there, the only problem is we only had a very limited number of weeks that would work and this one was the only one that would work for the lake and us. I really hope you can talk up this event in the White Mountains too it would mean the world to me. I can't even express how I wish you could be at this event! I understand you had a prior commitment and wouldn't ever ask you to change that, I just wish things could work out better.
Thanks again

It's all good. There will be plenty events, or for that matter, non-events for us to hang out, BS, bbq, etc. I'll be happy to do what I can to help out aside from being there.
When this event is done. It will be time to start planning the spring fund raising cook off!! :o :o :o
No worries bro, That's what we are here for. To help lighten the load.

If you are making money buy selling Q Brisket and Pulled Pork are great items The Public loves Spare ribs
Chicken is a real test of the cooks abilite.
-
I will be happy to donate for helping get what is needed forbeing able to vend. Maybe have one cooker set up justy for vending by the foundation. That will make the public happier if they have a booth they can go to, to buy some bbq to eat after walking around and smelling it. In fact I will donate use of my pit and trailer for that as well.
-
Count me in as a tentative. Being so far out, I am hoping all will be OK. It falls right in between my hunts ;D. How much space is available for camping?
-
Dave, we reserved you a prime spot, right next to the septic tank so if the BBQ gets to you, you are within range... ;D ;D ;D
-
Ha Ha, just as long as you are there to hold my hand. :-*
P.S. I meant time..so far out in time. Smart A$$ :D

I am so excited that DEWALT will be a part of this BBQ Cook-Off. I just informed Mike that we are committed to having the DEWALT Rolling Thunder 18-Wheeler at this event. Below are pictures of the "rig". The set-up will be minus the DEWALT tents, but everything else will be the same. The Rolling Thunder display will have all of the latest and greatest from DEWALT, including the new 36-Volt Cordless products, the new and upgraded 18-Volt Cordless Product, new pressure washers (ideal for cleaning out grills), corded tools, accessories, etc. We will be holding numerous competitions throughout the day on November 4th.
Looking forward to it. Let me know if anyone has any other ideas as to what we could do at the Rolling Thunder display. We will be open from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 4th.
Cheers,
David

:o Hey all, it is now official, DeWALT has agreed to come on board as our Presenting Sponsor of this event. This is huge for us, we are very excited to have them sign on to this great cause and they are really committing a ton of money, prizes and resources to ensure that this event will be one of the best ever.
Now that we have our main sponsor in place, we will get rolling on our marketing of this event and hopefully get many other larger companies to see the value of supporting this event and this great cause.
Thanks DeWALT, you guys have always been there for us, we do appreciate you and all your support. ;)
We look forward to working with you, your staff and your BBQ entry team. ;)

Sorry we didn't make it to this meeting. I am almost back to normal, of course Cindy caught the flu now and is sick too, as well as my niece. My lil nephew brought it to us all fom day care of course. But it's just a lil bug.
Anyway, That rocks that Dewalt has jumped in. Sounds like things are really going good.
-
Bear,
I hope you and Cindy feel better! Sorry to have missed you last night you missed a great meeting! We will see you in 2 weeks for the next meeting though. I am sure Mike sent you out the minutes for that meeting so you should be pretty well caught up. We look forward to seeing you again sometime soon.
