Anyone have anything planned for the 4th?

It's like unpatriotic to not BBQ on the 4th.  O0

;D  You are so right.  We are planning on attending the 4th of July fireworks show at the park next to Central Christian Church in Mesa.  This is one of the largest fireworks displays in Mesa.  There will be food, rides, entertainment and much more at this evening.

It would be great to see lots of you out there.  I don't know if I can BBQ out there, but I might bring my small Keg-a-Que out there and make a day of it.

Hope to see you all there...

PM me or respond here if you need more details...

Great post Evan...  ;)

I think we be hanging out at the park and watching the fireworks. One spot on the hill for 4th celebration. Looks like it might be fun, (sorry Thom) unless we get rained out. In which case, we will just hang out on the porch and cook somethin.

Don't know about the 4th but on the 3rd the town of Cave Creek (yes I know thats west of Mesa) does a spectacular job. They light up the sky right between the Buffalo Chip Saloon & Harold's ... You can hang in the parking lot of go into the Wagon Camp of the Chip and watch 'em going off right over your heads. Yopu can feel the booms!
Plus, Larry ( owner of the BChip usually has greata BBQ inside for about $8 or $9.. Brisket, Pork, Chicken, Cowboy Beans & Great Colesalw... But out back this year they are doing Turkey Drum's & a corn roast. They have a butt load of tables, outback, vollyball, tire swing, Sometimes live music & Griz,a working Blacksmith. Not to mention outdoor full service bar for all who choose to consume.
I'll be on top of the hill catering otherwise it's an event "not to be missed" in my book

Go have fun
go to www.buffalochipsaloon.com and check it out

Bob, that catering, is it open to the public, or are you doing a private event?

That sounds like a blast and I think I will bring the family up there for it.  What time does it get going??

I have four days off for the holiday and I am going to make it a smoking 4th of July! ;D ;D
I am going to be doing ribs, a chuck roast and chicken thighs! It has been a little while since I have had time to smoke anything so I am excited! Since I have 4 days I think I might even grill a few ribeye steaks as well! Should be some good eats!! ;D

Michael, Unfortunatly it's a private party up on top of the hill...  Nothing like eating lobster on someone else's ticket. Depending on your motive sometimes the party starts around 2:00.. OPPS that was the year I didnt see any fireworks, but if you are going for dinner show up early as there are a lot of people that gather.. sometimes the wait on the food can get rather long (unacceptable). If you show up by 7ish you can usually get a good parking spot. Park in the lot between the Buffalo Chip & Harolds. Take lawn chairs and a cooler...It's "tail gating Cave Creek style"
Usually a lot of things going on all around you... clowns (OPPS. Again that was me the year i didnt see the fireworks), TC & Harvey Walbanger (the buffalo) usually make and appearance somewhere horses all over the place. I stoped by last night & Harolds has this big ol tent already up in the parking lot and the two places were just a jammin.

Then on Tuesday it's Crazy Ed's Satisfried Frog... All you can eat Beef Ribs for 15 bucks + Sammy (the Brewmaster) brews up some pretty good beer. High octain stuff and again fireworks at 9 right across the street from there.   It's a cool time in our community.
Last year they wer canceled two days before because of the fires in the foothills and all us merchants lost our butts.    looking to make up for lost time this year.

See ya all there
