Hey all,

Just got word from bothe the Tucson Homebrew Club (THC) and the Arizona Society of Homebrewers (ASH) concerning their respective Oktoberfests.

THC is finalizing the reservations up on Mt. Lemmon this year for their annual Oktoberfest.  They are shooting for the last weekend in September, which means that it should be a bit warmer up on the hill than in previous years.  This is a great all weekend event and a great chance to escape the heat of the desert.  The last few years we have BBQed for the event and been a part of a great gathering of Beer enthusists.  The beer, food and good times will definitely not disappoint!

Also, ASH has secured their date of Saturday October 23rd for their all day event at Kiwanis Park in Tempe.  Those who attended last year know what a fun and delicious time this event can be.  Live music and dozens of home-crafted beers, along with great food and plenty of activites.  Definitely a faminly friendly atomosphere and a great way to spend a Saturday.

I will be providing additional information as it becomes available, and I look forward to seeing everyone out at these two fantastic events!

Can't wait! What goes better with BBQ than beer?

Dean, did they happen to mention Springfest? It is a junior version of their Oktoberfest and just as much fun. Marty Gibson and I, as well as others in the BBQ community, have been involved in it over the past few years. It's usually is in March or April.

Spring Fest is always good, and the Tucson Group also does a Summer fest up on Mt. Lemmon.  Both groups are pretty active, having 3-4 main events every year.  I would like to get them out to some of ours as well, either at a social event or at a competition.
