Title: AZBarbeque Social
Post by: Mike (AZBarbeque) on February 14, 2008, 12:53:41 pm
Hey all, it's that time of year again for a social.

Last year, we did a St. Pattys Party, the year before we did a BBQ Crawl.

Question to everyone.  What would you prefer this year?

St. Pattys falls on Monday, March 17th, so we could have a social get together on either that previous Friday or Saturday or we could plan a BBQ Crawl for any Saturday in March other than the 1st.

Please sound off and let me know what works for everyone.  I do have to admit, they both sound like a blast.

Saturdays are better than Mondays for me and I'm good for either a social or a crawl.  (I won't be eating nearly as much at a crawl as I did last year.  Urp!)

Our only available Saturdays in March are the 15th and the 22nd.

1st - Avondale
7th - QN4U Class
29th - Pork & Brew

I know I'll probably get shot down but is there any chance we can do something on a Sunday?  I only work part-time (do tax returns) and I don't like to take Saturdays off because it causes a problem for the people I work with.

Bernie,  if we did a social for St. Patty's Day, it would be a Saturday evening about 5:30 - 6 Pm until ???  Would that work for you??

Hey all, any more interest in this before we pull the plug.  We only do the socials to get as many of our great members together to meet and chat in an informal environment, so if you are interested in attending a St. Patty's Party on Saturday, March 16th, please let us know.

Yes, it will be at the club house where I live.

Address is:

13300 E. Via Linda
Scottsdale, AZ 85259

This will be a pot luck as well, so bring something you enjoy.  Appetizer, main course, dessert, drink, or whatever.

Should be a great time.  I will post more on it after this weekend's event.

The green thing is fun, but not very tasty lookings.

A friend of ours did some green Rice Crispy Treats for a St Patrick's day party.  They were really green, stained the teeth and scared the you know what out of me when my body processed it out.  Some things just should not be green.   ;D,   For a minute I thought I should talk to my doctor, then I remembered about the rice crispy treats.

Will you answer I tax question.  It seems that I forgot to file my AZ return last year.  The state owes me more than a thousand bucks.  Can I just send in this years and last years at the same time???

Hey Mike, Alexa is having eye correction surgery, not having her kidney remove.  ;D

Karyn and I had it done last year.  The first night was weird, but I drove myself to the follow up appointment the next day.  We both just had the final check up and we both went from very poor site to 20/15.  It is so cool not to have glasses, especially since I wore them since 8th grade.

Pork's almost done, Beans are about to go on, Dips are made, Chocolate is wrapped (Secret surprise treats) and we are just about to go over to the clubhouse and start decorating and setting up.

Hope to see you all here.  If you have not RSVPed, but now plan on joining us, come on out, there will be plenty of food...
