And while you are at it, ask him why we are both banned from there...  ;D  ;D

Yea, I would think the same Jay, don't know why they are so difficult.  When Les ran against her, he contacted us and stated that he would do whatever he could to get us proclaimations and help increase the BBQ competitions here in the state.  We can only hope that once her term is up, we see the changes..

Because your not a good guy like me ::)

All of the Triple Crown events fall under the Governor's Proclaimation, so yes, as long as we get 15 teams, it would be a qualifier.  I think we are at 13 or 14 right now.

Hey all, it appears that I mis-spoke on this as it was pointed out to me that our proclaimation reads that it has to be sanctioned by both the KCBS & IBCA, so I have put it in the hands of my contact at the Governor's office to see if we can get either a re-write or a new Proclaimation with broader terms so that it will encompass all of the 4 meat cook-offs in the Triple Crown.  I will let you know what we find out.

Thanks.... ;)

And here I thought it was because no one else had a backbone to confront him about it.  I keep hearing it's between me and him, yet I have done nothing to get banned.  Where is the rest of the BOD and why aren't they over ruling him.  It seems it has turned into a dictatorship over there.  They do have some great things coming up and I'm sure it will be great for BBQ here in AZ, but to ban people just because one person on the BOD doesn't like him is WRONG!!!... Just my $.02..

If I understand what you are saying, the Avondale event and any other Triple Crown event are not qualifiers (assuming the 15 team new event minimum) unless you can get a re-worded proclamation, right?

The way it's worded, it says that it will be a dual sanctioned event by both the KCBS & IBCA, so we are going to work on getting it reworded to just say a sanctioned event and leave off who will be sanctioning it.  Hopefully we will be able to get that done.  Keep your fingers crossed.

We might need to do another dual sanctioned event if we can't get it changed, possibly IBCA on Saturday and KCBS on Sunday.  Need to explore this more.

Jaybird

Remember, to be a Jack qualifier it does not have to be sanctioned. Just have to have 15 teams first year and 25 teams per year after that and a Governors proclamation.
