No check-in till 3:30 pm ??? That will make it hard to get set-up,meat inspected, meat marinaded, etc., before dark and before starting smokers.Hmmm, guess we will see.Check in should be  around noon and on. 3:30 pm may not work out.

Chris,

That's fantastic news.  Those DeWALT prizes will really be a great addition to the cash prizes.  DeWALT is really happy to be a part of the Triple Crown and excited to be a part of this great event.

Hope to have some more teams join up and come out, it's really going to be a fun time.

The first 12 teams to sign up and send their registration and payment in will receive 2 FREE 12 pound Fresh PORK BUTTs with bone in........  Keep in mind that we are providing the cups and forks for the People's Choice and we threw our percent from the people's choice to the competitors............   That's over a $40.00 benefit for just the Pork Butts.......... which means you could buy more meats for the People's choice or use the pork butt as well..........or place another $40 in your pocket........

We continue to work on other perks as well.......... but this one is for the first 12 ONLY>..................... Looking to be an event that will be priceless................ Now that's a SMOKIN Deal........................

WOW Chris, that's a fantastic deal.  Great job.

This is really shaping up to be a great event.

Don't forget, this is also an "Offical Triple Crown of BBQ" event, meaning that you will also be earning points toward the Team of Year for 2008.  We are working with sponsors and event organizers to create an end of year prize fund of both cash and prizes, so not only are you competing for this event, you are also competing for points for end of year awards.

If you have not already gotten in your registration, get it in ASAP.  We really would love to have a great turn out from all of our local teams.

I would like to suggest that all future events, REALLY let the public pick the peoples choice award, not by how many people purchased tickets that went into the jar.  depending where you BBQ stand is, you may be the last one in a row, and folks tend to go to the first booth.  would rather the pick be on taste,  not purchase.  when we buy tickets for samples, give us a form to mark to select those we like the best.

Linda,  First off, welcome to the site, great to have you on here.  Hope you enjoy all it has to offer.

For most of our People's Choice, we do have a way of determining a winner that is not based on tickets, however, for this contest we did not.

The way we normally work it is that for every 10 taste tickets a person purchases, they get 1 vote ticket.  Then, after they taste all the food they want, then they go back and give that one taste ticket to the competitor they liked the best.  Since we did not have a prize for People's Choice at this event, we did not do that.

Hope to see you at more events in the future.  This A$$ Kickin one is really shaping up to be a great one.
