As most of you know we qualified last year with our GC at Boulder City but could not make it because of Monica's illness. Well, Debbie from Jack Daniels called me a little bit ago and extended an invitation to me to come to 'The Jack' this year!!! I am floating right now and my hearts about ready to explode.

I (along with Dave from PackerBacker BBQ)will be joining Rhythm 'n' Que and Blakes BBQ as THREE AZ teams will be making that wonderful trip to Lynchburg, Tennessee.

Thanks to Scottie Johnson and the kind folks at Jack Daniels for this opportunity to go to Otis and the Bird's 3rd trip to the most prestigious BBQ contest in the world.

P.S......I still wanna win that GC this weekend though!!!

Jay, CONGRATS... That is the best news.  We are so HAPPY for you. 

I am so excited that all of you will be out there.  We are working our butts off to figure out how to get out there as well.  We want to see you all out there and experience it with you. 

I know it's not the same as cooking it, but I feel like we all won because all of you are going.  It's really an amazing accomplishment.  CONGRATS... You certainly deserve it and I'm sure your Guardian Angel, Monica, is jumping for joy as well. 

Besides, as our Reigning AZBarbeque Triple Crown Champ, It just makes sense for them to have you back there.

Good Luck this weekend Jay, I know how important that is for you as well.  We are all pulling for you.

Jay, this is the best news!!!  I know that it was the right thing for you to stay home last year and it's the right thing for them to extend you an invitation this year due to the circumstances.  Congratulations, buddy!

Many people have said some pretty unfavorable things about the new regime that is handling the Jack these days and I hope this incredible act of thoughtfulness and caring will give those detractors pause to reconsider that the Jack is being run by some damn fine people.

It's certainly going to be an honor to be a part of the Arizona contingent of Otis and the Bird, Blake's BBQ & Rhythm 'n QUE.  Let's go get us some of that Tennessee magic!

Congrats bud.  YOU deserve it...  I didn't do anything that was special.  I made a call for a friend.  It has been hard not saying what I did know though....   

Now, I will work on them and make sure that we are next to each other...  See if I have any other strings I can pull....

I'm just hoping that we don't end up in the "No Wake Zone" this year!  We had a great spot last year and maybe they'll give it to us again this year.

And you can be sure that we'll be paying the extra few bucks for the private porta potty!
