Anyone Interested in Teaming up For any of the Summer events?

Hey folks,

My 2 Sons partner, Matt, is pretty jammed up all Summer and won't be able to compete.  I am itching to get to more comps -- and to show off my new BDS.  I am interested in Holbrook and the Golden Acorn comps, if there is anyone who wants to team up.  Need someone to share expenses as well as competition duties.

I live in Tucson and only have my pickup truck to haul stuff.  But I really do want to get some additional comps in.

Let me know if there is any interest.

I'll tell ya guys, Mike's a pretty easygoing happy-go-lucky guy, not a comp guy wrapped tightly around the axle. I'm sure a great guy to partner with too. Anyone looking to start out, this would be a perfect opportunity. My .02............oh yeah, he can cook too...

2 WSM's-Stoked
BWS Party-Stoked
22.5 Kettle to burn burgers and steaks.

Be kind, polite and courteous to everyone you meet, and ALWAYS have a plan to kill them.

Mike is one of the pioneers in BBQ in southern AZ and he's a super nice guy to boot. Trust me. You'll have a ball cooking with him. The two events he cited are not in Tucson, so you don't have to be either. Anywhere in AZ works. Just contact him to coordinate meeting up at the event; the more the merrier. Easy peasy and a great way for newbies to get a taste for competition. ;D

Thanks Jim................................but at least they walk SOMETIMES.  Just kidding, I know it is sometimes just a crapshoot.

Mark,  good point.  Since I am coming from Tucson, I could just load up and pick up a partner along the way, in the Phoenix area or wherever.

Mike, my name is Chuck ( woodchuck )if you still need a partner for Golden Acorn lets talk. Judging Holbrook so I can't help you here. I have a truck, 18 inch WSM, no comp experience, some Q experience have the desire to learn and I do play well with others. If you already have a partner I'll see you at Goldern Acron I'll go ahead and be a judge at the event.  Good Luck.

Hey Chuck,

No, I don't have a partner for Golden Acorn yet, so absolutely, let's talk about it.  I will send you a PM.

Still nothing definite on Holbrook, either.  A couple of guys seem interested, butnothing firm.  I may end up missing that one.
