Title: 2009 Superbowl Party
Post by: Mike (AZBarbeque) on January 05, 2009, 05:25:51 am
Hey all, once again this year we will be co-hosting a Superbowl party with my buddy Mark (TableCrashers).

If you would like to come out and join us, please RSVP here so we know how many to expect.

This will be our 8th year co-hosting this with him.

There will be lots of fun events going on before, during and after the game including a bouncie for the kids, football pools, trivia and of course, lots of great food.

Hope to see lots of you there.  It's off of the 101 and Union Hills, so RSVP if you would like to join us.

We plan to be there this year unless something very unexpected happens related to work...like the Super Bowl being shifted from Tampa to Glendale at the last minute.

Need RSVPs for our Annual Superbowl Party so we know how much food & drink to have out there.

It's our 8th year doing it, and it's always a blast.

It will be even bigger IF the Cardinals make it there as well.

Bring the Family and come on out and join us for a great party..

It's kind of a pot luck style event this year, so sound off on what you want to bring.  Whatever food you feel is your Best Superbowl item.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Tim, I resent the flyer to you.

Go CARDINALS!!

To tell the truth, this is a tough game for me.  I grew up a Steelers fan, as I have been to the old three rivers to watch games.  My mom and dad grew up in Bethel Park which is just outside of Pittsburg and my grandparents still live there.

However, since it is their first time, I have to say Go Cards.   ;D

If you are confirmed to attend this event, please post what food you will be bringing.

We have some others that are coming that have asked what to bring, so before we tell them, we need to know what you are brining.

Please advise...

You are thinking of our superbowl get together. more like 10 people hudled around a 13" tv...our plasma is out in the snow waiting to go to the dump...but at least the crappy pic will have awesome sound  :-\
The company, food and beer will be good though.

Just bought a 52" yesterday for my outdoor livingroom/kitchen area(with surround). The 42" just wasn't makin it. If the weather ain't good, we can go inside to the 61" and surround. I love Superbowl Sunday!! Eat, drink and be merry!!

Jay I am proud of you.  The deals are great and spending our money is the only way out of this recession, but everyone is so puckered up right now you can't get a greased BB up their ....

I too am part of the problem, as I am worried of not having a job soon.  They just sent a bulk e mail saying that 10% will be let go, nice e mail.  I am the last one in for my line.

But, maybe I should just do my part and go buy that new 52 or maybe the 55 LCD.   That truly is the answer, it is all about consumer confidence.

Sorry, Jay my Bad

I did not take it as you bragging.  I am glad somebody is helping this economy go around and then I got on my soapbox.

So which 52 did you get??

I have been looking at some LCD's recently.  I have a 65 rear projection, but I get a ton of glare.  So I was thinking that a smaller LCD might just fit the bill.  I sit too close for the 65 anyways, but it came with the house.

So whatcha get???  ;D

Post by: Mike (AZBarbeque) on January 26, 2009, 02:27:52 pm
I'm still so behind times, I still have a 36 inch tube TV.  One of my goals for this year is to get the Big 60" plus LCD TV.  Hopefully I can meet that goal..

I bet that TV really displays the Superbowl well.  Maybe next year we move the party over to Jay's..  ;D

Bob, come on out.  I will e-mail you the flyer.

We will have a keg there, but who knows how long that will last.  The past few years, it lasted the entire party.  We will also have other Alcohol out there as well as non-alcohol drinks.

We still need a lot, so let me know what you are thinking.  Tim, your beans would be a huge hit, but whatever is good for you, if you want to try something new this year, go for it.

Erin, cupcakes would be great.  There is someone else bringing some, but they are not bringing enough for everyone, so bring some along.

Here is what we have so far.

AZBarbeque:

Pulled Pork
Pulled Chicken
Cajun Shrimp
Beer Brats
Italian Sausages
ABT's

McFrankenBoo - 7 Layer Dip & Sausage Bread

AZ_Sauce_Man - BBQ Sauce

Crash & Lisa - Sushi Tray

Steve - Chili

Some other person Mark invited - Nacho Bar

Just add on as you see fit..

Could use some great Cobbler or appetizers..  Let us know..

We have some great Superbowl items as well as some great items from our sponsors.

This party is going to be awesome.  Win or Lose, the Cardinals and their fans are enjoying this moment.  I honestly never thought I would get to experience it, so I'm going to enjoy it while it's here.

Well, I am out for tomorrow.

My daughter Marie took a wild pitch in the face (from Randy Johnson's daughter no less) at her first softball game and now has a broken nose.  I decided to hang here at the house with her to watch the game, since she is understandably not too sociable right now.  Talk about a bloody mess, these are the days that give a Dad gray hair.

Have fun everybody, I'll look for the pics.  GO CARDS!

Dean, Sorry to hear about that.  Hope she heals up soon.  Hopefully Randy will get her some cool Autographed stuff to ease the pain.

Did the other girl say anything after it happened?

We will miss you tomorrow, but as with anything, Family comes first.  We will tip a few back for you.  ;)

Randy didn't say, or do, anything. Not that I expected him to.  The guy has always been a prick.  His daughter didn't say anything either.  I think everyone was kinda stunned.  She is holding her nose and blood is just gushing out, it was hard to tell if it was just her nose, or her mouth, teeth, etc. also.  Freaky.

Someone got her ice, and I took her over to our G.P. for treatment and x-rays.  She'll be alright, but has to go to the Ears, Nose, Throat specialist on Monday.

It was pretty funny this afternoon, she wanted to go to her Soccer game over in Scottsdale, (she also plays on the Fountain Hills U-12 BOYS team), just to watch....I am sure she wanted to show the boys how tough she was.

Anyway, thanks for the best wishes, she's a trooper and will recover just fine.

I know I am going to miss a good time tomorrow.  I've never worn a sash before...... :)

Wow Dean sorry to her about this.. Scary when kids get hurt no matter how bad. Give her hugs from your future teamate!!!

PS: The "prick" part is true, one of my best friends met him in an elevator and just said " nice game" after a Diamondback game and he would not even reconize they were there....

Sorry to hear about your daughter Dean, that really sucks.  Bummer that we wont see you tomorrow wearing that sash, but like Mike said.....family first.....always.

Quick question though, did she charge the mound?  J/K   ;D

He doesn't tip??? If I was the waiter or if I was sitting there and aware that he did not tip, I would rip him a new A$$.   Having worked in the service industry for many years, this is how most of them make their money, the Tips.  It is extremely rude for him not to tip and tip well.  He certainly needs to take some lessons from Kurt Warner..
