This should be another great NASCAR weekend out at PIR here in Phoenix.  Hope to see some of you out there.  We have not made firm plans yet, but we will be out there hopefully.  Once plans firm up, we will update the details.

It would be great to see some of you out there.  Let us know if you are planning on going to any of the races that weekend.

Remember, we are still going to be giving away 2 tickets to that Sunday's NASCAR race to someone who is activately participating in the forum section here on this web site, so get involved and it could be you.

Hey all, we are trying to finalize details for this date.  Who all is planning on attending this race?

It is on April 22nd out at PIR.

I know I have 15 to 20 people with me, but we are trying to gage interest in hosting a BBQ prior to the race.

Sound off and let us know if you will be there and if so, if you would join us for a BBQ.

Either way, it's going to be a great time out there that day.

Bear,  ABT's will be great.  I am thinking about smoking up some Beer Can Chicken and having pulled chicken sandwiches.

Sound off on what you would like and we can see if we can't get it done.  We are expecting about 20 - 30 people out there, so it should be fun.

What time are all of you planning on getting out there??

That fall race is killing me.  It's on the same day as the Cardinals vs. Cowboys here in town as well.  I'm sure NASCAR will be the priority as we get paid to be out there, but hopefully something works out where we can do both.

Looking forward to seeing you at that race though Thom.

Easy solution. Watch how the season goes to hat point. If it looks like Cardinals will slaughter Dallas, go to the game. If not, go to the race. Personally I love watching Dallas get whooped, almost more than watching my team win.

Since this is my first Nascar race I thought I would ask, how loud does it get? Do you need earplugs?

DDog,  Yes, it gets very loud, I would highly suggest either ear plugs or renting one of the scanners there and using that.

The scanner let's you listen in on the drivers as they are racing, it is a neat experience.  A bit pricey, but neat

Yea, they are really neat, some of them come with a little TV that you can use to watch the race, see the cameras inside some of the cars and get up to the second stats, they are really cool.

You can rent one for about $60 with two headsets.  Pricey, but a neat way to see the race.  I'm sure we will be renting a few of them.

I'm really hurting for you to imagine you having to sit through an afternoon of drinking homemade beer and eating BBQ, I bet it is going to be very tough.

Oh wait, we will be doing almost the same thing, although our beer won't be homemade, it will be cold.   :D

We will plan something up soon and hope to get everyone together for some sort of meet and greet.

Enjoy your event this weekend, it does sound like a blast.
