 Is at Pechanga Casino, in Temecula, CA... Teams can come in Thursday if they wish... Kelly and Kathleen McIntosh are the reps. Prize money is $15,000 (the richest in Cali)... Is KCBS sanctioned... and there may be a few perks for cooks (compliments of Pechanga) which are still in the works. Anything else in particular you would like to know?

Any room discounts?

 I will know next wednesday at 10am (meeting)... I know they sell out most weekends so discounts might be hard to get, but will work on them.. It will be a limited number of rooms they make available as is.. but will (Pechanga) work with other local hotels as well... Stay tuned!

Well we had a very productive meeting this morning..... We moved the venue from lot K -- by the gas station --- to right outside the Casino (same area where the Food truck festival was held), by the pool area.. in doing so, we went from no limit on teams-- to a limit of 50..maybe a few more depending on size of space.. 20 x 40 standard. We also have PC limited to 25 or so teams.. 1st come 1st serve (please write it on your entry form)-- must let me know you are doing PC when you send application (no HD - so mesh walls are optional not mandatory).. make sure you still have a wash station, as we want to make sure proper hygene still in use. I have secured more Brats for PC teams... I am working on 50-100 racks of ribs right now-- and may have a $2 for team (different color ticket) for Ribs only that we sell at 3 for $10... with regular PC at 10 for $20 ($2-- split 50/50 ---$1 to team). Teams now can just walk through the Casino door and be by the hotel side of Pechanga, and in the restaurant or gambling area within a 2 minute walk of the event site, eliminating the need for shuttles and such.

Pechanga is putting together a room rate, and an RV park rate for those of you wanting/ seeking extra comfort, and/or extra days. Teams may check in on Thursday June 21st if wanting to do so.. after 10am. Pechanga is also working on a few perks for teams-- they will let me know what if any get approve-- (I suggested free play, and free buffett amongst others)... Will keep you in touch as these things come down the line. Site is beautiful, overlooking the hills and Golf course and the surface is parking lot asphalt (lol)..... California's richest BBQ Cook off... Is getting better all the time... 13 days and counting on EARLY BIRD! WHO IS NEXT?

Another fun thing about Temecula are the wineries there...about a couple dozen in all and quite good. It's like going to a mini version of Napa. Always fun to visit and bring home a case or two of the favorites you sample. ^-^

 There are over 30 wineries now... in Temecula... don't forget those early morning hot air balloons in the sky....
