Amazing... Although they did deserve it more this year than last.  Still, they shouldn't have made it, but they are and it's March Madness, so let the games begin.

Join the tourneys now..

GO SUN DEVILS!!!  >:D

I'm certainly happy they made it, but I'm shocked.   This team was on the bubble a month ago, they proceeded to lose 5 of 6 to close the season and still got in.   I doubt if the roles had been reversed if ASU would have gotten in after losing 5 of 6.

Unfortunately this is the last hurrah..  I hate to say this, but the glory days of UA basketball are gone.  It will be quite a while before we sniff the tourney again.  The Lute fiasco has destroyed three recruiting classes and the fact that we still don't have a permanent coach is seriously hampering recruiting efforts for the next three to five years.  With the way recruiting works now a days, you have to start recruiting kids while they're still in junior high.  Unless we bring in an established high profile coach, we'll be playing catch up for a long time.

With 25 days to go before the start of this years college basketball season I'm officially retracting everything I said in that last paragraph.

The Sean Miller hire was phenomenal.  UA fans should shower Tim Floyd with gifts and flowers for not accepting the UA job.  With a little assistance from the implosion at USC, Miller brought in 5 top 100 recruits in his first 3 months.   The incoming class is athletic and talented.  I can't wait to see these guys play.  This team will be young and inexperienced, but a lot of fun to watch.  I haven't been this excited about the start of basketball season in years.

Extending the streak to 26 is not a lock and is a lot to ask of the 5 incoming freshmen, but this years team will have a legitimate shot at it, which seemed impossible back in March.

UA basketball is in good hands. Miller has landed Rod Odom and Daniel Bejarano for 2010 and Sidiki Johnson for 2011.  If he's able to add Ray McCallum to the 2010 class, they could make a run for the final four and a national championship as soon as 2011.  McCallum will be visiting Arizona next weekend.

If we extend the streak to 26, there's no reason to they think they won't be able to shatter NC's record of 27 straight tourney appearances.
